Ketogenic Diets

Hello I’m Jody King-Colegrove with Quantum Techniques. We have a proven technique to help quickly determine the root cause of your health issues using a form of energy medicine. You may have heard a lot lately about a ketogenic diet. There are several different types, and they all have different purposes. I want to cover that with you today.

What proponents of this diet say is that by going to a keto diet you are effectively starving cancer cells of fuel, because cancers feed on sugar, and so by eating more fats, you’re getting the body to function better. The other thing it does for those with type II diabetes, is that it lowers insulin levels. It also creates increased mental clarity and it helps tremendously for people with Alzheimer’s because it reduces levels of anxiety and also helps their neurotransmitters to calm down, thereby avoiding some of the side effects of the foods that they eat. There are several different variations of this diet, so I’ll go over each of them.

The first one is a standard ketogenic diet. That’s where you have 75% fat intake, 20% protein intake, and 5% healthy carb intake. Healthy sources of fat include cacao butter, coconut butter, coconut oil, MCT oil, almond butter, coconut milk and cream, ghee, butter, bacon fat, avocados, and avocado oil. Many people on ketogenic diets eat lots of avocados, olive oil and coconut oil.

The second option is a targeted ketogenic diet. It is typically for body builders. They ingest high quality carbohydrates within one half hour of working out, and because the workout was so intense they’re able to burn off the carbohydrates to the point that they won’t affect them.

The third type is a cycle ketogenic diet. There is a five day period where you eat a diet very low in carbohydrates, followed by two days when you ingest a very large amount of carbohydrates. So 5 days eating food with low carb levels and 2 days eating foods with very high levels of carbohydrates. Many athletes choose this diet.

The fourth keto diet is a high protein kinetic diet. This is typical for obese people. They increase the amount of protein intake compared to fat, in order to help with obesity and to bring themselves back to a healthy weight.

The last one is a restricted ketogenic diet. This is for people who are specifically fighting cancer. When one ingests a lot of fat the body uses it for fuel instead of sugar. The idea is to eliminate the ways that the body uses sugar as a fuel for cancer.

I have several friends that are trying ketogenic diets, and it has worked well for them. I’m in the process of moving myself into the kind of a diet that consists of consuming more fats, so I’ll let you know how I like it. Please visit quantumtechniques.com and complete a session request form and I can help you know whether a ketogenic diet is good for you, or simply to discover what kind of foods and vegetables you should be eating in order to help your body have a well balanced diet. Blessings from Quantum Techniques.
